Journey of one paper (II) - First draft
Here's a very thorough example first draft: Human Computer Trust.
Some things to shamelessly copy and do in your papers:
- Self-standing title page
- The paper uses section "headers" to make clear the topics of different sections of the paper.
- Second page has a statment of your "thesis" or "conclusions" and an outline of the paper, which is just a list of the section headers from your paper.
- The conclusions are integrated into the introduction section. The last paragraph of the sample paper has the conclusions at the end:
There is an extensive list of published papers that study just one aspect that might influence this relationship, consequently, in this paper I seek to explore not one, but the most important factors that affect human-computer trust. My analysis indicates that human-computer trust is not only determined by the degree of competence proved by the algorithm, but it is highly influenced by human’s own bias and beliefs such as perceived risk, perceived computer’s intentions and computer manifestation of humanness.
- The paper uses a consistent style (I think APA style?) of in-text citations, and has a well formatted list of works cited, in this case alphabetized by first author's last name.
- There is a "Conclusions" section in which the evidence of the paper is briefly summarized, and the thesis or conclusions statement concludes the paper.
