P & K, back to the UK
Returning to Northumberland… 16 years ago we lived in Kingston Park, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The highlight of the trip was the chance to see old friends. Ali and Teresa were enthusiastic enablers of and accomplices on our travels. Karen and Dave hosted us in Rothbury. Apparently we talked so much with Neil, Karon, h, p, v and a that we completely forgot to take photos 🙄

Hadrian’s Wall walk
We had pretty thoroughly explored the part of the Wall close to Newcastle. This time we walked for three days further west, staying at pubs and hostels.
Castles, gardens…
Can’t go to Northumberland without visiting some historical sites.

Scenes along the way
We just missed the strikes by rail workers. Our travels went smoothly until the very last day, when our transatlantic flight back was cancelled. K, e, and p worked the phones until early in the morning, we took a train to fly out of Manchester instead, and caught a return flight only 24 hours later than originally scheduled.
You obviously covered many miles in good company. Thanks so much for taking us with you.
