Beth / Benjamin and Rangitoto
Beth and Benjamin arrived early Monday!
Our strategy to get their clocks synched to local time included keeping them walking.
Weather was great so we took a ferry to Rangitoto island and hiked to the top: Rangitoto is the iconic extinct volcano in the Waitemata Harbour visible from many places in Auckland. It erupted just 600 years ago, so there’s mostly lava rocks instead of soil. The Pohutukawa trees are among the first to get a foothold.
