West German pop star Udo Lindenberg wanted to sing in East Germany, but was refused. In 1983 he wrote “Sonderzug nach Pankow” (to the tune of “Chatanooga Choo-choo”) as an ironic appeal to DDR head Erich Honnecker (referred to as “Erich Honey”).

13 years after unification, the Deutsche Bahn cooperated in mounting an actual Sonderzug nach Pankow.
