Another dead volcano in downtown Auckland!  This one with grazing sheep on its slopes. The sides of the cone were extensively reformed in Maori times with terraces, and ditches to make it into what might be viewed as a sweet-potato defense site. (More about that another time…)

In the park at the bottom, One Tree Hill Domain, are groves of trees from all over NZ (and at least one redwood).
